The AGIBOT X2 Basic is a compact humanoid robot from the X2 series, designed for applications in the fields of entertainment, education, human-robot interaction and light service tasks. Its smaller size makes it particularly suitable for indoor spaces and environments where space is limited.
Standing approximately 131 cm tall and weighing around 33 kg, the robot is significantly smaller and lighter than many full-size humanoid models. Its external appearance is based on biomimetic design principles. These include, amongst other things, subtle breathing movements, dynamic LED elements and slight shifts in weight whilst standing.
It has 25 active degrees of freedom for movement. These are distributed across the head, waist, arms and legs, enabling humanoid walking, gestures, coordinated head movements and more complex movement sequences. The robot is also designed for performative applications and, according to the manufacturer, can perform dance routines as well as movements on a bicycle, scooter or hoverboard, amongst other things.
Interaction takes place multimodally via visual, verbal, tactile and facial expressions. LED eyes and head movements can be used to convey reactions. In addition, user gestures, environmental information and contextual data can be incorporated into dialogues to enable situation-specific interactions.
The AGIBOT X2 Basic supports autonomous navigation and proactive obstacle avoidance. This enables it to move around in suitable indoor environments without the need for constant remote control. The decision-making logic is designed for simple autonomous processes and interactive usage scenarios.
The AimDK_X2 SDK is available for development and customisation. It offers task-specific APIs as well as access to sensor streams and supports both Python and C++. This allows the robot to be individually programmed for research, educational and development projects.
Compared to the Ultra version, the AGIBOT X2 Basic has a more limited set of features. It has 25 degrees of freedom instead of 30, and does not feature LiDAR, an RGB-D camera or an autonomous charging station. It is therefore primarily intended for entry-level scenarios, HRI research, entertainment and simpler service applications.
