The TCV series from MagBot comprises automatic tool changers for cobot applications. There are four models to choose from, with load capacities ranging from 10 to 30 kgf, allowing the tool changer to be tailored to the specific application. For systems in which a cobot operates with multiple tools, additional tool plates can be purchased at a reasonable cost.

The switchable ferromagnetic technology requires only a short 24 V DC pulse for coupling and uncoupling. Depending on the model selected, this process takes between 200 and 400 ms. No compressor is required for the changeover mechanism. When coupled, no permanent holding power supply is required. The ferromagnetic circuit keeps the tool securely coupled even in the event of a power failure.

All models feature an integrated safety lock that prevents the tool plate from becoming disengaged accidentally. A magnetic sensor and a proximity sensor are used for status monitoring. The positioning repeatability for all models is ±0.05 mm. The master can also be used as a magnetic gripper for ferromagnetic components, independently of tool changes.

The TCV series is designed for temperatures ranging from −10 to 60 °C and for relative humidity of 0 to 80 per cent, non-condensing. The protection rating is IP45 and is optionally available as IP56. All models operate on a 24 V, 2 A power supply. Optional pogo pins and pneumatic adaptors enable the use of electric or pneumatic tools and grippers.

Contents of the package

The configured package consists of a master, a controller, a 4-metre cable, a 1-metre cable and two tool plates, including a rail bracket. Additional tool plates, pogo pins, pneumatic adaptors and other accessories can be ordered separately.
