Surface cleaning with the OnRobot HEX force/torque sensor
In the video
Surface treatment is a great candidate for automation because the process is repetitive, boring, and can be easily botched. In this use case, we see an automated surface treatment solution based on a cobot from Universal Robots. As the process requires the precise application of force, an OnRobot HEX sensor is installed between the robot and the end of arm tool.
While not seen in this video, OnRobot also makes a grinding tool for cobots (called the Sander) that would easily integrate into such a solution.
