The SAFE-SIL from SALZ Automation is a safe coupling relay for safe signal transmission up to SIL 3. It offers three non-delayed safety relay contacts (NO) and one non-delayed auxiliary contact (NC) and is TÜV Rheinland certified. The device is used to safely couple pulsed PLC output signals to the field and enables galvanic isolation and power adjustment. It can also be used as a contact extension for a basic device without the need for a feedback loop.
The SAFE-SIL is designed for use in safety-relevant applications up to safety category 4, PL e (in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1, EN 62061 and EN 61508). The module supports an automatic start and offers an LED display for status monitoring. It is installed on a 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715) in switch cabinets with IP54 protection. It ensures reliable self-monitoring and recognises errors at the latest when switching on or off.
