AIRSKIN for KUKA Cybertech

AIRSKIN is a pressure-sensitive safety skin that transforms a KUKA Cybertech industrial robot into a collaborative robot. Contact with the skin stops the robot immediately. By combining the soft skin with a high-performance industrial robot, both a long reach and proven robustness and precision are achieved. At the same time, it enables collaborative operation and thus offers possibilities for fenceless automation.

AIRSKIN is available for the entire product line of KUKA Cybertech robots. It allows fenceless workflows with speeds of up to 2 m/s in free space. This eliminates the need for large safety fences, which frees up valuable floor space and can increase the productivity of the system.

Without disruptive fences, material flows can be quickly redirected and the robots can flexibly switch to new tasks. This is particularly advantageous in production environments that are subject to constant change.
