The mDPG4S3 from MagBot is an electrically powered vacuum gripper for automated pick-and-place and transfer processes. An integrated DC vacuum pump generates the vacuum directly within the gripper. Operation requires a 24 V power supply and digital input and output signals. There is no need for an external compressor, additional compressed air lines or a separate pneumatic control system.

The mDPG4S3 can be configured with an arrangement of one to four suction cups. The technical data sheet specifies a maximum payload of 5 kg. The achievable load capacity depends on the selected suction cup arrangement, the material and diameter of the suction cups, and the nature of the workpiece. Smooth, even surfaces allow for a more stable vacuum than porous or uneven workpieces.

With suction cups, the mDPG4S3 measures 65 × 70 × 81 mm; without suction cups, it measures 65 × 70 × 66 mm. It weighs 0.62 kg. The vacuum may be lost in the event of a power cut. For applications where a falling workpiece poses a hazard, appropriate safety measures must therefore be put in place. The suction cups should also be checked regularly for wear, damage and dirt.
