The PGHL-400-80 from DH Robotics is an industrial electric parallel gripper designed for handling larger and heavier workpieces. Its flat design is intended to reduce the space required in the Y and Z directions, as well as the load and moment of inertia on the robot or handling system in which it is used. Thanks to its large stroke, the gripper can handle workpieces of various dimensions.
The model offers a gripping stroke of 80 mm and an adjustable gripping force of 140 to 400 N per gripper jaw. The recommended workpiece weight is up to 8 kg. The manufacturer specifies a positioning repeatability of ±0.02 mm. Opening takes approximately 1.0 seconds, whilst closing takes approximately 1.1 seconds.
A mechanical self-locking mechanism maintains more than 95 per cent of the gripping force in the event of a power failure. The PGHL-400-80 measures 194 × 73 × 70 mm, weighs 2.2 kg and is powered by 24 V DC. Standard interfaces include Modbus RTU via RS485 and digital inputs and outputs; further interfaces are available as options. The unit has an IP40 protection rating and is designed for ambient temperatures of 0 to 40 °C.
